Commission

A per-trade fee some brokers charge alongside a tight spread.

Commission is a fixed fee a broker charges for executing a trade, common on raw-spread or ECN accounts that offer very tight spreads. It is usually quoted per lot per side. On these accounts the total cost is the small spread plus commission, which can be cheaper for active traders.

Example

A raw account might charge $3.50 commission per lot per side plus a near-zero spread.
