Quote Currency

The second currency in a pair — the one prices are expressed in.

The quote currency (also called the counter currency) is the second currency in a pair. The exchange rate is expressed in it: it tells you how much of the quote currency you need to buy one unit of the base currency.

Example

In EUR/USD at 1.1050, the US dollar (USD) is the quote currency.
